The College and Career Ministry, “Encounter”, exists order to minister to young adults, 18-25, and help them develop a deeper understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, create enriching Christian friendships, and equip them to go and make disciples wherever they may go.
The purpose of this ministry is to provide a safe, fun, engaging, welcoming environment for young adults who are seeking to learn more about Jesus Christ and discover how to build a deeper and real relationship with Him that impacts everyday life.
Therefore we seek to:
Make church a welcoming and safe place where the Bible can be learned.
Equip every young adult to be able to grown knowledge and understanding of the Bible and their walk with Christ.
Encourage every young adult to take the Biblical truths that are taught into their own environment.
Walk alongside every young adult that becomes a part of this ministry through Bible studies, fellowships, and other life events.
The name “Encounter” comes from Hebrews 4:16. This verse tells us that because of the work of Jesus Christ and power of the Holy Spirit we are able to boldly enter into the presence of God the Father to meet and hear from Him. This means that regardless of where we come from, when we surrender to Jesus and became washed in His blood then we are able to confidently draw near to the Father so that we may have an encounter that is life altering. The hope that this name carrhesis that when we say that we attend the ministry, Encounter, then we are encountering God and letting those moments be times of eternal change. It is our prayer that anyone who attends comes as they are, but ultimately after encountering Jesus they do not leave as they were.
